Description |
A crazy quilt created by Clara Mason to commemorate the Royal train tour of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth to Canada in 1939. The blue velvet square in the middle features Queen Elizabeth done in embroidery. The bright squares and other shapes have embroidered edging and French knots. The fabrics of the 1930s are used in prints and solids. The floral and rose-printed cotton backing was also used for the ruffled border. |
