Description |
A Victorian doll (a) made with a bisque head, leather wrapped body, porcelain hands and articulated bendable limbs (knees). The body is stuffed with sawdust. Doll has weighted blue eyes (i), a light brown wig (m) with cardboard attachment piece (n) and an open mouth with teeth. Doll is wearing the original chemise (j), stockings (k,l) and one shoe made from oilcloth with an attached sole (b). Doll also came with extra handmade clothing including a pair of open-crotch bloomers (c) with lace trim, a white eyelet tiered petticoat with back button closure (d), and a pieced together petticoat with back button closure (e). A skirt (f) and long-sleeved blouse (g) are made from cotton. A pink and beige crocheted bonnet (h) has 2 tasselled pompoms and drawstring ties. |
