Description |
A round table cover made from beige linen and embroidered in a circular design with flowers and a peacock. The pastel design has a long-tailed male peacock with its feet standing on a flowering branch. A second flowering branch completes the semi-circular arc near the head. The needlework includes French knots in the flowers, the bird's comb and small green "dots" in the spaces around the floral design. Part of the enbroidery work is the raised satin stitch which gives depth to sections of the design. The cloth is edged in a series of circular medalions done in crochet work. |
