Description |
Hand Cards. A pair of rectangular wool cards made of wood with an attached handle. The handle is hard, large grained wood, probably oak, and slots into the carder. The back of the card has "L.S. WATSON & CO. / LEICESTER / MASS." stamped in it. The bottom of the card has a slightly narrower rectangle of pressed leather, through which the metal teeth fit. Four narrow bands of leather are attached to the piece of leather and the card, with small round-headed tack nails. The teeth are curved and bent from use. |
