Description |
Basket. A round birchbark basket (a) with lid (b) decorated with off-white porcupine quills and straw. The lid has a maple leaf design that is worked in a random pattern of seven leaves. The outer edge has a zig zag design that extends up from the sides in the weave. The lid and basket are made from sections of birchbark turned so the darker side is exposed and stitched together. The edges of top and basket are sections of straw sewn in place. |
