Description |
A watercolour landscape painting by Philippa Faulkner entitled "Harbour 001 Manzanillo [sic] Mexico". The scene depicts a watery inlet with boats on the water to the right of a large red building standing on a rocky shoreline. there is a docked boat on the left of the scene with red and white checkered siding and a large cross on the bow. In the background there is a central yellow builing, surrounded by impressions of other buildings scattered around it and extending into the distance. Overlooking the inlet is a large mountain on the right side of the scene. On top of the mountain stands two large crosses. More mountains are visible below the large mountain, with impressions of other mountains in the distance. The artist has segmented the painting using parallel lines to create squared cells throughout, which are accompanied by curved lines. Impressions of waves on the water's surface is achieved by using inverted curved triangular shapes. |
