Bowl. A copper lustre ware bowl made with a moulded floral design on a blue enamel background. The red-brown clay body has been thinly coated with a copper oxide smear glaze. The upper body of the bowl has the blue enamel band with three sprig leaves with an oval fruit. The leaves are green shades with a pinky-peach fruit. The pedestal food has a rounded edge and gradually extends into the flared bowl. Copper lustre ware was the most common type intended for daily use. |
